Small and medium-sized enterprises in the Czech Republic have a unique opportunity to receive funding for innovative projects using state-of-the-art computing technology. The European initiative FFplus has announced the second round of an open call for proposals, in which companies can receive up to EUR 200,000 (approximately CZK 5 million) to implement so-called business experiments. These are short-term innovation projects designed to help small and medium-sized enterprises use supercomputing technology (HPC) for the first time to tackle specific business challenges.
What is FFplus, and what does it offer?
The FFplus project is a European Union initiative to support companies in their use of high-performance computing. Its goal is to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and start-ups integrate technologies into their development or production that have previously been reserved primarily for large corporations or research institutions.
* During the project, six open calls shall be launched to support two types of activities: Business experiments and Innovative studies.
Who can participate?
The call is designed for:
- Small and medium-sized enterprises and startups registered in EU countries,
- Companies with no previous experience with HPC. The FFplus project provides technical support and expert guidance through a network of national competence centres (in the Czech Republic, for example, EuroCC Czechia).

How much money can be received, and how can it be used?
Selected companies can receive funding of up to EUR 200,000, which covers:
- costs of implementing the experiment,
- access to the European supercomputing infrastructure,
- consulting and technical expert advice.
How and when to apply?
- The application deadline is 26 August 2025.
- Applications are submitted online on the FFplus website, where all further details are also available.
