Technotron-Metal is the largest producer of expanded metal in the Czech Republic. Expanded metal (or micro expanded metal, decorative expanded metal) is a modern metal material that is used in contemporary architecture and construction for the design of exceptional interiors and exteriors – variations of facade elements, suspended ceilings, stair treads, balcony railings in combination with trim profiles, screens, and fences.
The aim of the cooperation with the EDIH Ostrava is to develop and implement software that will streamline processes and activities in the expanded metal warehouse by automatically detecting the number of pieces being removed and stacked. Artificial intelligence and machine learning methods will be applied in the development. The resulting software will run on mobile devices to be used by warehouse workers. Subsequently, the software will also be connected to the company’s ERP system.
The project is implemented by the Department of Cybernetics and Biomedical Engineering, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Informatics, VŠB-TUO.
