Partner: SEMA DesignING s.r.o.

Field:Mechanical Engineering

SEMA DesignING specializes in the development and manufacturing of machinery, engineering design and project planning, and Industry 4.0 solutions. The company, based in Havířov, was founded in 2021 by Tomáš Sembol and Martin Piruch. Its client portfolio now includes the Mondelēz factory in Lovosice, food and beverage manufacturer Nestlé, and the Daikin Device CZ production plant.

The company established a partnership with the Moravian-Silesian Innovation Centre (MSIC) in the field of digitalization to minimize time-consuming routine tasks. Automation and digitalization were identified as effective ways to achieve this goal. To support the company, MSIC enrolled SEMA DesignING in its DIGI Scan service and connected its managing directors with Miroslav Dišek, an expert in the field.

The expert helped the company address not only time-consuming routine activities but also the automation of procurement processes. These initiatives enabled SEMA DesignING employees to manage their time more efficiently and focus fully on clients, projects, and key business development activities.

Automation also played a central role in the subsequent DIGI Project service. Specifically, the project focused on implementing automation for a selected two-stage procurement and ordering process, providing valuable management tools to help the company achieve its strategic objectives.

In the medium term, these improvements will also enable the company to shift workforce capacity from routine tasks to higher-value activities, keep pace with emerging trends, successfully modernize its operations, and strengthen its competitiveness. Following the completion of the transformation project, the company also expressed interest in the DIGI Supervision service, which is currently being prepared.

“Collaboration with MSIC can take many forms, but what helped us the most were the Impuls and DIGI Scan programs. These initiatives triggered truly dynamic changes within our company and helped us effectively identify and address the challenges we were facing. We are now at a stage where we are automating several repetitive, click-based processes and transforming our company’s marketing strategy. Both changes had been needed for a long time, and thanks to our collaboration with MSIC, we were able to initiate them very quickly and move in the right direction,” says Tomáš Sembol, Managing Director, SEMA DesignING s.r.o.
