Phottr is developing a mobile app that allows companies to take and edit product images directly from their mobile phones. Thanks to advanced artificial intelligence, the Phottr app can automatically crop images, remove backgrounds, adjust lighting, and ensure a consistent look for e-shop images. The platform thus replaces a costly photo studio with a simple app that speeds up work and delivers consistent results.
To identify the features that companies truly need and determine how best to develop its solution further, Phottr utilised the Product Validation and User Engagement service provided by the EDIH Ostrava in collaboration with UNICO Analytics. The project was funded by the EDIH Ostrava, which enabled Phottr to gain detailed insight into user behaviour and market needs.
As part of this cooperation, interviews were conducted with prospective clients from among e-shop operators, re-commerce platforms, and manufacturing companies. The analysis focused on current practices in product photography, image editing, and the use of artificial intelligence. The aim was to verify, among other things, whether companies prioritise speed and simplicity over absolute perfection in images, how much of a burden manual image editing is for them, and whether an automated and transparent workflow is more beneficial to them than impressive AI editing alone.
Thanks to the support of the EDIH Ostrava and the expertise of the UNICO Analytics team, Phottr has gained a clearly defined strategy for further development and confirmation that the application can significantly speed up the preparation of product images and simplify their management. The company can now proceed to the following stages of development with confidence, knowing it is responding to real market needs and delivering a solution that truly saves companies time and money.

“Cooperating with UNICO Analytics was a great experience thanks to the professional and friendly approach of the entire team. Initially, they clearly explained how the validation would proceed and what they would need from us. They were invaluable in formulating our input data. They then kept us informed about the project’s progress and consulted with us on the next steps.
The result of using the service is a superbly elaborated document, enabling us to direct our limited capacities to areas with the greatest potential for monetisation.”
